The Sustainability Concept for the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Games

Realizing Social Good Games
“Beyond Aichi-Nagoya 2026 – A Bridge to Asia and the Future”

Social Good" refers to activities, initiatives, and attitudes that help build a better society through sustainable development and by addressing social issues.
Through Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Games, we aim to carry forward the spirit of “global citizenship”, which took root in this region during the EXPO 2005 AICHI. We aim to inspire people to look toward the future of Asian countries and regions, and to take action to help build a better society by addressing a wide range of social issues beyond sports. Together with all stakeholders such as host cities, local governments, volunteers, and partner companies, we will promote socially responsible initiatives that contribute to achieving the SDGs by 2030.

Our Initiatives

Using Existing Facilities
We utilize existing facilities for many competition venues and accommodations. This approach reduces environmental impact and sets a sustainable precedent for hosting international multi-sport events.

    Sport: Boccia
  • Aichi Prefectural Martial Arts Hall
    Sport: Para Judo
Utilization of Movable Accommodations and Sustainable Procurement for Post-Games Use
We utilize movable accommodations and actively promote the leasing of materials and equipment wherever possible, with a view to their use after the Games.

Develop a “Code of Sustainable Procurement”
AINAGOC has developed the “Code of Sustainable Procurement,” which defines standards and guidelines to incorporate sustainability into the procurement of goods, services, and construction, aiming to achieve sustainable Games operations.
Contractors working with AINAGOC are required to make efforts to understand the Code's contents and standards and comply with them when fulfilling their contractual obligations.
Volunteer Activities Open to Everyone, Regardless of Age, Gender, Nationality, or Disability
Volunteers not only support the operation of the Games but also play a crucial role in shaping the overall image of the Games through their activities as its “face.” We strive to ensure that every volunteer—regardless of age, gender, nationality, or disability—can participate with joy, feel a sense of purpose, and contribute with a smile.

Collaboration with Local Students, Various Organizations, and Institutions
Children can gain valuable learning opportunities through the Games, and by actively involving students in helping to energize the event, we enable young people who will shape the future to acquire experiences that will benefit them for years to come. In addition, we will collaborate with various organizations and institutions to enhance the preparation and operation of the Games, as well as to promote and raise awareness of Sports SDGs.
